Transforming ideas of research, practice and profesional development in a faculty of education

Lesley Wood

pp. 117-132

As a relatively recent appointee in a merged university in South Africa, my job description as a research professor mandates me to build research capacity within the Faculty of Education, and to "lead through research" (R. Balfour, personal communication, October 7, 2012). For someone who is passionate about the generation of knowledge for social and educational transformation, this is an ideal job.
