Collaboration in semi-professional music groups

Tobias Marx

pp. 173-181

Cohesive music performances require collaboration among musicians which has been studied widely in jazz and art music. This study aims at answering how collaboration can be conceptualized and measured in actual music group live performances in rock and pop. Five semi-professional bands, consisting of twenty musicians in total, were video captured during rehearsals and live performances.
