The philosophy and the programme of Hilbert

Carlos Torres

pp. 151-172

This essay is due to my desire to bring the reader interested in mathematical philosophy and foundational studies into closer touch with Hilbert's thought on the subject. Still it is not intended as an introduction to the matters under discussion and some familiarity with them is presupposed (at least some acquaintance with mathematical logic). Rather, it is a synthetic view of what I think is the nucleus of Hilbert's mathematical philosophy and its unfolded consequences.
