Duquesne Studies in Phenomenological Psychology

The contributions in this series approach the field of psychology as a human science through a utilization of the philosophical tenets of existential phenomenology. The authors shared the view that many problems in the field might be more clearly understood as arising from its philosophical presuppositions and theoretical formulations. They looked to the work of existential philosophers in the phenomenological tradition - such as Maurice Merleau-Ponty, Martin Heidegger, Jean-Paul Sartre, Gabriel Marcel and Martin Buber - for help in clarifying particular psychological phenomena.
