Academies from Plato to Zamolxis

A. Vartic

pp. 209-217

The communication contains the author's ideas and hypotheses about an ancient school of knowledge not widely known yet — that of Zamolxis. He, as his doctor said, was either a King or a God of the Dacians. Those ancient people once lived on the territory of contemporary Romania and the Republic of Moldova. Parallels with Greek history are made. Unique archaeological findings of the author and his team on the territory of the Dacians and their capital Sarmizegetusa, are described. Conclusions are drawn relevant to the contemporary search for "harmony" between science and society, the role of academies in this search being decisive.
