Magda Heydel

Magda Heydel teaches at the Centre for Translation Studies, Faculty of Polish Studies, Jagiellonian University in Kraków. She is the head of MA Programme in Literary Translation and editor-in-chief of Przekładaniec. A Journal of Literary Translation http://www.ejournals.eu/Przekladaniec/. She published two monographs Obecność T.S. Eliota w literaturze polskiej (The presence of T.S. Eliot in Polish literature, 2003) and Gorliwość tłumacza. Przekład poetycki w twórczości Czesława Miłosza (Tranlsator’s Zeal. Poetic translation in Czesław Miłosz’s work, 2013) as well as co-edited anthologies of translation studies, recently Polish Translation Studies in Action. Concepts-Methodologies-Applications (2019). She is an awarded literary translator into Polish and her authors include Virginia Woolf, Joseph Conrad, Seamus Heaney, Alice Oswald, Katherine Mansfield and Roald Dahl.
